Numb3rs drabble: Turn Your Head (Don/Terry, PG-15)
Title: Turn Your Head
Pairing: Don/Terry \o/
Rating: PG-15
Summary: "You wore a skirt today, huh? Interesting."
Word Count: 300
Spoilers: None.
Prompt: "Research" at [info]numb3rs100.
Notes/Warnings: Pre-series. I've actually had this as part of my personal Don/Terry canon for, I don't know, years, but I've never really written it out, only alluded to it in other (unpublished) stories. The "research" prompt at [info]numb3rs100 was what I needed to actually write it. Thanks to [info]leda_speaks and [info]neur0vanity for reading it and telling me it was okay. :-) Title taken from At The Library by Green Day.

Saturday morning finds the library mostly empty. Terry had agreed to let Don tag along and study with her as long as he promised to concentrate--solemn nod of confirmation, when do I not?--and so far he's behaved, asking legitimate questions when he thinks of them and valiantly attempting to answer hers even when he has no clue. He's fidgety like always, tapping his pen and bouncing his foot next to hers, but she finds it endearing enough to let it go.

"So I wonder--oh." He's dropped his pen. Bemused, she watches him disappear under the table to retrieve it. A moment later, his disembodied, slightly echoing voice says, "You wore a skirt today, huh? Interesting," and before she can even think to figure out what that means, fingers are brushing up under her skirt. She claps her legs together, trapping his hand, and looks around the room.

"Don," she whispers sharply. His fingers wiggle between her thighs. "Stop it, I am so serious."

He kisses the top of her knee and she kicks lightly at him, but she can feel his breaths of laughter against her leg. "You deserve a study break," he murmurs.

Low voices just a few yards away startle her into relaxing her legs, and he dives forward to press his mouth against her underwear. She gasps, biting back a squeak, and suddenly the voices are louder.

"Ah, Ms. Lake." It's Dr. Roberts, her Behavioral Science teacher, walking next to somebody she doesn't recognize. "Researching for your paper?"

"Uh," she says. Don's tongue flicks firmly against her. "Uh! Yes. Of course," she stammers. "It's such a, a fascinating subject."

He smiles, not unkindly. "I look forward to reading it. Carry on."

"Right," she breathes. Don's tongue flicks again.

Yay for N100 helping you get this down on paper! It's great Don/Terry. He was such a little devil in his Academy days. /grins/ You captured her uptight but not unkind with just the right balance.

Also, can I move to where you are? If you live in a land where oral sex is PG13 I can't imagine how smokin' hot NC17 would be. /huge grin/

I feel guilty, but I have to admit I haven't read your chat porn fic yet. I've had my head in a Bones h/c fic and past finishing Idle Hands I've needed to keep myself in that headspace and not dive back into the distraction of porn. A lame excuse, but at least an honest one. One of my fandom failings is that I focus so much on my writing as an author that I suck as a reader. Drabbles I almost always have time for and they're not long enough to suck me in, but longer fic? They can definitely derail me.

Your fic, your decision on rating, but if you're asking my advice as a comm owner? I'd say it's an R. Being someone who has a partial clothing kink /winks/ I can tell you it's the act that matters, not the nudity or lack thereof.

Oh, haha, that's okay! I wasn't even thinking of that story in particular, I was thinking more of, I don't know... something dirty, like this one, maybe. :-)

Well, one reason I asked you was because it's posted to your comm. I don't think this deserves an R, but I'll split the difference and make it a PG-15. I feel like the way it's written is non-explicit enough that it's justified.

To me, any sex act means R and any explicit sex act means NC17. Any vague precursors to sex or talk about sex can stay PG13, but then again I follow the ratings exactly so I don't have a option to make up one to be PG15.

We trust authors at the comm to self-regulate, but if someone complains we'll step in. So far, no worries.
